If there is
one wish that children all over the world share, it is to
visit Disneyland. Never in history has there been a place,
real or imaginary, that has so enchanted young minds. It
is a place where animals can talk, where one can walk with
princesses or take amazing thrill rides-and where the only
rule is to have fun.
Long before he dreamed up Disneyland, its creator, Walt
Disney, longed for a world free of life’s pressures. At
the time, the young artist was struggling to promote one
of his creations, “Oswald the Rabbit”. Oswald was a black
bunny with red shorts, yellow shoes and long floppy ears,
and Disney had high hopes for him.
As fate would have it, Disney lost the copyright to Oswald
and was forbidden to draw the rabbit. Inspired by a mouse
that lived in his wastebasket, the talented artist quickly
created a new character based on Oswald. He named it
“Mickey Mouse.”
